NCJW-SA Year in Review
July, 2021 – June, 2022

During a year where we were still feeling the effects of a Pandemic, we were able to accomplish so much!

Community Outreach

During the year we concentrated our efforts in three areas: refugees, food bank, and busy bags. We worked closely with the Center for Refugees, MCECC, Food Bank, Agudas Achim, Temple Beth-El and the local children’s hospitals. Here is the recap of our community outreach activities

  • Food Bank Volunteers, Nov ’21 and Feb. ‘22

  • Coat and Clothing Drive for Afghan Refugees, Oct ‘21

  • Diaper Collection for Center for Refugees, Dec ‘2

  • Feed SA Food Collection, May ‘22

  • Busy Bags to Methodist Children’s Hospital and Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital, May ‘22

Election & Advocacy Efforts

This was a big election year, and we wanted to make sure that all of our votes would count. On a virtual level, we were able to help our Jewish Seniors vote by mail, and wrote letters to help get out the vote!

  • TEXAS REDISTRICTING: How you can help fix a broken system? Sept ‘21

  • Voter Deputy Registration Training, Oct ‘21

  • Rally for Abortion Justice, Oct ‘21

  • Repro Shabbat with Temple Beth-El, Jan ‘22

The learning opportunities were vast this year as we could now share information virtually that we wouldn’t have been able to participate in otherwise.

  • Lunch and Learn: Conflict Resolution, Feb ‘22

  • Caring for the Caregiver, Jan ‘22

Even if you don’t read the book, this is a great place to find out everything that is going on in your NCJW-SA Section.
